Positive thinking has also been seen as a preventative form of medicine. In the vibrant world of today, where scientific and medical breakthroughs are on the rise, it may be optimistic that the common cold will soon be a thing of the past. Negative thinking has also been seen as a factor influencing how likely a person is to develop a serious illness, such as cancer.
But it isn’t just an outcome of today that factors into whether or not we’ll reach our health goals. Some of the factors that influence our health and well-being are everlasting, such as the positive thoughts that come from Positive psychology, and personal matters, such as family life, followed by external matters, such as the economy.
However, it is probably more important to consider what specific positive thinking does to your health.
Positive thinking, for some people, will not be just any type of thinking. It must be a believing or attitudes type of thinking. You are an optimist when you believe that things are going to work out for the best even if they are not working out now. For example, you may feel that you will be able to save money on health care by following a particular health care system, even though you know it will not work out for you. You may be an optimist that the time will soon be ripe for you to buy that new flat white chocolate ice cream and you are willing to spend money to get it even though you know it will not meet your needs.
Positive thinking comes in many forms and you need to be aware of all of them. Some of the more common forms of positive thinking are:
- I’ll be happy when/if I achieve what I am striving for.
- I have a good memory.
- I am a good and honest person.
- I can change people’s lives if I only realize what other people need and want.
- I am a motivated person.
- I am a good provider of material wealth.
- I do not industrialize or develop anything.
- I do not need to take into account the effects of my actions in the lives of others.
- I exist for the benefit of mankind.
Is there more than one type of positive thinking involved here? yes, there is. Some people will focus their negative thoughts on one negative factor while adopting a positive attitude in order to change its overall direction. However, the most effective action is to view and discover the positive factors in life. Discerning is the activity involved in discovering these positive factors. Do you believe that you can really change another person’s life for the better just because you think it will be best for him or her? Sure you can, but first, you have to discover what it is that you want to change, and then express it.
People who are unable to discern and differentiate between what is good for them and what is bad are simply Bell-ets and Carbonados. It is just detection night and day. If you want to have healthy relationships it is really very simple, just be aware of the negative things that can draw you down the road of destruction. Isn’t it sad that people cannot see the positive aspects of life for themselves? How sad that there is no joy in life anymore when there is so much to do to be joyful.
Our world is on the brink of a devastating and cataclysmic eco-extraction. It may be a little too late to stop it now… But the next 30 years can be your time to practice the highest form of Positive Thoughts whether you are an optimist or a pessimist.
